The PG&E program includes free electric service infrastructure and subsidized equipment costs for participants

LOS ANGELES – June 6, 2018 – EV Connect, a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, including development of the industry’s most innovative cloud-based software platform for managing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, their interaction with utilities and the driver experience, announced that it has completed the installation and turn-up of twelve charging ports at Merced College (Los Banos California campus) in collaboration with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) through its EV Charge Network program, and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD). This installation represents the first deployment under PG&E’s EV Charge Network program.

The EV Charge Network program aims to help accelerate the adoption of EVs in California by installing 7,500 EV chargers at commercial customer sites, including condominiums, apartment buildings, educational institutions and workplaces, across PG&E’s service areas in Northern and Central California.

“EV Connect’s participation in PG&E’s program has been very successful, and we are very excited to have partnered with Merced College to make EV charging on their campus available to their constituents,” said Jordan Ramer, CEO of EV Connect. “The selection of EV Connect by PG&E and Merced College further supports our position as a leading provider of open and standards-based EV solutions that offers customers flexibility and total service management.”

Under the EV Charge Network program, PG&E will pay for and build all electric service infrastructure requirements from the transformer to the EV parking space for participating sites. PG&E will also provide a subsidy to the participant for the EV charger equipment costs.

Workplaces, educational institutions, apartment buildings or condominium complexes that are PG&E customers based in Northern and Central California can learn more about and apply for this program by contacting EV Connect by at (866) 790-3155 or via email to sales@evconnect.com.
