EV Charging Stations Come to Pepperdine for Faculty, Staff, Student and Guest Use.
MALIBU, CA – December 4, 2014 – EV Connect, a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, including development of the industry’s most innovative cloud-based management platform, participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Pepperdine University for the institution’s new electric vehicle charging stations.
As a result of a unique partnership through CBS EcoMedia’s EcoAd program, Chevrolet provided the financial support to cover the installation costs and will provide three full years of free electricity to power the growing number of plug-in vehicles on the campus of Pepperdine University, named one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the country by Princeton Review. The stations will be managed by EV Connect via its EV Connect Charge Cloud™ software platform.
Adding EV stations for its students, staff, faculty, and visitors further demonstrates Pepperdine University’s ongoing commitment to ecological sustainability initiatives. Pepperdine has actively incorporated a variety of environmental responsiveness and awareness programs campus-wide since 1972.
“We appreciate the support and generosity of Chevrolet and EcoMedia by enabling us to offer our students, faculty, staff and guests another valuable opportunity to pursue environmental stewardship,” said Pepperdine University President Andrew Benton. “This partnership further demonstrates our commitment to caring for our campus and our surrounding community.”
The EV Connect Charge Cloud™ management platform was chosen by Pepperdine University to manage the stations and the driver experience because of its robust capabilities, including EV Connect’s ability to remotely manage all aspect of the solution.
“EV Connect is excited to be part of this important initiative at Pepperdine,” said Christine Adzich, Vice President of Sales at EV Connect, at today’s event. “As the only EV charging station company currently offering the kind of management capabilities and features Pepperdine was looking for, they felt we were a natural fit. It’s also a pleasure working with leading companies, such as Chevrolet and CBS EcoMedia, on important projects such as this.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with Chevrolet again to bring these three much-needed EV chargers to the Pepperdine campus,” said Paul Polizzotto, Founder and President, CBS EcoMedia. “Pepperdine’s students, staff and visitors will benefit from these Chevrolet-funded chargers for years to come and we continue to admire Chevrolet for its commitment to sustainability and innovation as a leader in electric vehicles.”
A special ribbon-cutting celebration was held today at the site of the newly installed, Chevy-funded charging stations on the Pepperdine University Campus. One Chevy Spark EV and two Chevy Volts were on hand for guests to experience the thrill of driving an emission-free vehicle. The celebration was hosted by Andrew K. Benton, President, Pepperdine University; Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder, CBS EcoMedia; and Jordan Ramer, founder of EV Connect.
