About RECO’s Commercial Charger Ready Program

Rockland Electric Company is offering the Commercial Charger Ready Program to help businesses in New Jersey offset 90% of the infrastructure costs associated with EV Charging Station installation. The goal of the program is to support the development of EV infrastructure to accommodate increased EV adoption in New Jersey.

  • Rebate Tiers

    • Tier 1: Public and DAC – 100% Make Ready (MR) up to the maximum

    • Tier 2: Public Non-DAC – 100% utility MR, 90% customer MR to maximum

    • Tier 3: Non-Public, Non-DAC – 50% of MR up to the maximum

  • For Level 2 Mixed-Use Commercial Charging, funding will be the greater of eligible costs incurred or the maximum per plug incentive.

    • Utility-Sided Costs: Maximum per port of $4,400

    • Customer-Sided Costs: Maximum per port of $9,200

    • Capped at 90% of the total project cost

    • Program plug capped at 413

    For Public DC Fast Charging (DCFC), funding will be the greater of eligible costs incurred or the maximum per plug incentive.

    • Utility-Sided Costs: Maximum per port of $2,000

    • Customer-sided costs: Maximum per port of $81,000

    • For DCFC stations, the number of charging ports eligible must be capable of simultaneously charging at 50 kW or greater.

    • DCFC stations with > ten plugs and/or demand > 2MW will only be eligible if the development of the site does not cause RECO to incur new business costs greater than the cost that would be incurred to develop a site with a maximum demand of 2MW

    • Capped at 90% of the total project cost

    • Program plug capped at 30

    Customers located within a Disadvantaged Community (DAC) can be eligible to receive higher incentives compared to a similar project outside of the community.

  • Eligible Locations Include: Commercial Properties. Multifamily owners and tenants may also be eligible to participate in the Commercial Charger Ready program.
