EV Connect Selected as 2020 S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards Finalist

Winners to be Recognized at December 10 Global Energy Awards Virtual Gala

El Segundo, California, October 14, 2020 — EV Connect has been named a finalist in the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards, an annual program recognizing exemplary corporate and individual innovation, leadership and superior performance. The 2020 finalists, chosen from some 300 nominated entries from over three dozen countries, were just announced by program host S&P Global Platts, the leading independent provider of information and benchmark prices for the commodities and energy markets.

EV Connect was selected as a finalist for the Grid Edge category in the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Award which recognizes companies that advance technologies that most effectively link utilities to customers through the electric grid. Through its innovative and open charging platform, EV Connect simplifies the set-up, management, and optimization of charging stations with premium customer service, from installation to driver support. EV Connect guides companies of all sizes in managing networks of chargers and delivers a seamless EV charging experience that empowers drivers.

Established in 1999 and often described as “the Oscars” of the energy industry, the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards highlight achievement in 21 categories spanning the entire energy complex.

The EV Connect platform scales from a single-connector charging station up to many thousands of connectors across hundreds of sites. EV Connect customers have the freedom to choose their charging hardware, which means that they can scale their EV charging businesses on their terms. Using open-standard protocols, EV Connect offers a powerful, cloud management platform that connects drivers to charging stations, site owners to their ports, utilities to demand data, and service providers to their networks. Since its inception in 2010, EV Connect has saved over 765,000 gallons of gasoline, powered over 31 million electric miles, and reduced more than 6.8 million kilograms of greenhouse gases. EV Connect actively manages over 1 million transactions per year across thousands of site owners, dozens of networks, and supports nearly 100,000 EV drivers. EV Connect’s platform is ready for many thousands more connectors, site owners, sites, and drivers.

“The Global Energy Awards, nominations and finalists continue to reflect the evolution of the industry, highlighting technology innovations, as well as accelerated focus on energy transition to a lower-carbon environment,” said Martin Fraenkel, president, S&P Global Platts. “Innovation, resolve and transformation were characteristic throughout this year’s applications and each of the finalists and nominees are to be congratulated for their accomplishments.”

Winners will be selected from each corresponding group of finalists by the Global Energy Awards’ independent panel of judges and announced at the live-streamed Global Energy Awards Virtual Gala on December 10th. Energy Company of the Year will be chosen from the entire list of finalists, regardless of original category.

Emmy and Tony award-winning actor and comedian Jason Alexander (Seinfeld’s “George Costanza”) will emcee and entertain at this year’s Global Energy Awards program. View this link (https://youtu.be/NwN8FxgAYnk) to watch Alexander’s engaging and irreverent Global Energy Awards preview.
