Schneider Electric Appoints Seth Cutler as Leader of EV Connect

The electric vehicle industry veteran takes the wheel to drive growth and manage expansion for the next phase of development at EV Connect.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., June 30, 2023 Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and industrial automation, today announced that effective July 1, 2023, Seth Cutler will lead EV Connect, as the company transitions from “start-up” to “scale-up.” Cutler will spearhead the Company's expansion with new customers and services, continue to enhance the customer experience, drive product development, and optimize operational efficiency.

“I extend my warmest congratulations to Seth Cutler on his appointment as the new leader of EV Connect,” said Nadege Petit, Chief Innovation Officer at Schneider Electric. “I am confident that Seth will bring valuable contributions and elevate EV Connect’s success to new heights, as we accelerate our efforts to deliver a more sustainable world through electrification, digitization, and decarbonization.”

During his tenure at EV Connect as Senior Vice President of Technical Operations, Cutler oversaw the deployment, maintenance, and support of electric vehicle charging stations across the United States and Canada. In that position he further matured business processes, built strategic partnerships, and ensured the success of EV deployments through interoperability and customer support. His leadership extended to programs supporting EV station deployments and maintenance while holding firm to the commitment that EV Connect remains open, flexible, and collaborative while working with more than 20 charging station manufacturers.

Seth Cutler has made significant contributions to the electric vehicle industry, including his work as Chief Engineer at Volkswagen's Electrify America, where he led engineering efforts on developing and deploying a high-power charging network for next-generation electric vehicles across the United States. At Electrify America, Cutler also played a pivotal role in procuring the charging infrastructure technology and oversaw the development of charger software throughout the network. Before his time at Electrify America, Cutler spent a decade at General Electric (GE), where he held various roles, including General Manager of EV infrastructure, in which he focused on the development, manufacturing, and deployment of charging stations.

During this transition, Cutler has worked closely with Jordan Ramer, CEO of EV Connect, and Patrick Macdonald-King, COO of EV Connect, who will move on to pursue other career opportunities. We thank Jordan and Patrick for their leadership and vision to grow EV Connect to what it is today.

“When EV Connect was founded, only a few hundred EVs were on U.S. roads; today, we are making a lasting impact on the world by helping to electrify transportation. It has been an incredible journey, made possible by our loyal customers, employees, partners, and investors,” said Jordan Ramer, former CEO and founder of EV Connect. “As I transition out of the company, I am thrilled to pass the leadership baton to Seth, who has been an integral part of the EV Connect team and has demonstrated his ability to lead. He is the ideal successor to continue the legacy that Patrick Macdonald-King and I leave behind."

Cutler added: “I am excited to build on the work we’ve done at EV Connect so far and to take the company from start-up to scale-up. I look forward to further collaboration with the entire team to capitalize on this opportunity to power the future of transportation.”

Since the Company’s founding, EV Connect has saved drivers over 1,350,000 gallons of gasoline, powered over 56 million electric miles, and reduced more than 12 million kilograms of greenhouse gasses. EV Connect actively manages over 1 million transactions per year across thousands of sites, and dozens of networks, while supporting over hundreds of thousands of EV drivers.
