Available Incentives and Rebates in Ohio:

Ohio offers several EV charging incentive and rebate programs to help offset the cost of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and installation. Depending on your location, utility provider, and project use-case, you may seek funding from one or more of the following utilities and government agencies:


AEP Ohio

**Important Program Information: AEP Ohio Commercial Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate program concluded on April 25, 2022.

AEP Ohio Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate Program incentivizes the installation of EV charging equipment, including: Level 2 charging stations and Direct current fast chargers (DCFCs) for workplaces, government facilities, multifamily complexes or other publicly available charging locations. The goal of the program is to support the development of EV infrastructure to accommodate increased EV adoption in Ohio by offering rebates to offset equipment and installation costs associated with EV charging stations.

    • Local Government: Level 2 station could get up to $50,000, 100% eligible project costs, or $10,000 per port while DCFC stations could get up to $100,000, 100% eligible project costs, or $100,000 per station.

    • Public Charging: Level 2 station could get up to $50,000, 80% eligible project costs, or $10,000 per port while DCFC stations could get up to $100,000, 80% eligible project costs, or $50,000 per station.

    • Workplace: Up to $30,000, 50% eligible project costs, or $5,000 per port for Level 2 stations.

    • Multifamily: Up to $45,000, 75% eligible project costs, or $7,500 per port for Level 2 stations.

  • Minimum Number of Ports to Qualify for Funding (based on location type):

    • Local Government: Up to 6 Level 2 ports, and up to 2 DCFC stations.

    • Other Public Charging: Up to 6 Level 2 ports, and up to 2 DCFC stations.

    • Workplace: Up to 6 Level 2 ports, and up to 2 DCFC stations.

    • Multifamily: Up to 6 Level 2 ports, and up to 2 DCFC stations.
